RCT #30
Tooth #30
A 19-year-old female patient presented with a chief complaint of lingering spontaneous pain to heat that was relieved by cold. Clinical examination and pulp testing were consistent with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis with symptomatic apical periodontitis.
At the first visit, a pulpectomy was performed to relieve the patient’s symptoms. The canals were accessed, cleaned, and medicated, and the tooth was temporized.
At the subsequent visit, root canal treatment was completed with obturation of all canals. A small coronal void was noted in the MB canal following obturation and was sealed with flowable composite to ensure an adequate coronal seal. The tooth was then temporized, and the patient is scheduled for delivery of a full-coverage crown.
